Trademark Costs in Türkiye: Official Fees and the Real Budget

The cost of a Turkish trademark is not a single number. There are at least two official payments: the application fee at filing and the registration fee once the application succeeds. Under the 2026 schedule these are TRY 2,820 and TRY 7,010 for a single-class mark — TRY 9,830 in official fees alone, before attorney fees and any contentious steps.

Three components of the budget

• Official fees — payable to TÜRKPATENT, revised every January by a schedule published in the Official Gazette, and non-negotiable.
• Attorney or trademark agent fees — driven by the scope of the file.
• Optional steps — clearance searches, oppositions, appeals, assignments, licences and renewals.

How class count changes the bill

Protection is granted class by class and each additional class is charged separately. A three-class application therefore costs TRY 8,790 in official fees at the filing stage alone. One frequently missed nuance: for selections made under the retail-services group of class 35, the third and each subsequent class is charged at a markedly lower rate, which matters a great deal for retail and e-commerce portfolios.

Costs that appear later

If a third party opposes your application, or the Office refuses it, defending the file adds both official fees and professional time. Assignments, licences and security interests must also be recorded with the Office against a fee. Renewing on time rather than in the grace period is the single easiest saving in the whole lifecycle.

Why the cheapest quote is often the most expensive

Official fees are not refunded when an application is refused. A file that fails because nobody ran a proper search costs you the fees, the months, and often the packaging and signage investment made in the meantime — plus the risk of an infringement claim from the earlier right holder. Budget for the cost of protection, not the cost of filing.
